SensorTech began with a revolutionary new idea. Dr. Andrew Clark, a graduate of Clemson University's Bioengineering school, led research to develop a method for conducting electricity through a polymer. In 2005 Dr. Clark and Dr. Martine LaBerge, Chair of Clemson's Bioengineering Department, were named co-inventors of this patent pending sensing material.

May 2007: Chuck Pringle and Dr. Clark founded SensorTech and located temporary offices for the Company at the Clemson University incubator facility in Pendleton, SC.

July 2007: SensorTech was admitted into the SC Launch Program and received a University Startup Assistance Grant.

January 2008: The company moved from Pendleton, SC to a larger facility with dedicated research and development space and areas for production located in Greenville, SC.

June 2008: SensorTech became the exclusive licensee for the foundational patent with the Clemson University Research Foundation (CURF). In addition, during 2008 SensorTech was awarded and began work on a research and development contract with the Office of Naval Research for a prosthetic socket sensor.

January 2009: SensorTech hired its first full time CEO, David Myers.

August 2009: The company received additional capital funding from UCAN (Upstate Carolina Angel Network), SC Launch and several private investors.

October 2009: Launched load cell range

January 2010: Launched force sensor and switch range

May 2010: Launching pressure mapping sensor system
